Infants: 6 weeks to 2 years (ratio 1:4)

 

The world’s youngest explorers! Children in this program discover, investigate, manipulate objects and use all their five senses in order to learn by experiences and to adapt to their environment. In other words: develop their minds and brain connections!

Commencing at a very early age, Nelly’s Childcare and Pre-School will nurture your child’s development and take care of his/her daily needs the same way you do at home. Our qualified infant teachers will a loving bond of trust with your baby and with you that motivates the child to become more self confident, eager to explore his/her surroundings and to achieve developmental milestones. Nelly’s Childcare and Pre-School offers an environment safe and rich in activities and exercise where our little explorers can be exposed to a wide variety of materials and sensory experiences that will help develop their maximum potential in an environment full of smiles and hugs! Every day, you will receive a log of your child’s feeding, sleeping, diapering and learning activities that we did throughout the day.

Pre-School I: 2 years to 3 1/2 years (ratio 1:10)

 

Independence is the key! This is the time where the child learns and develops in many ways. The child's five senses get polished even further and everything the child learns is meaningful. During this time, toddlers strive to be independent and want to do everything themselves including imitating adults. We work hard in creating strong loving bonds between child and teacher that can promote trust, autonomy, self esteem and understanding to the child.

At Nelly's Childcare and Pre-School, we understand the key changes in the child's mind and the new skills that need to be explored by the child to help them become more independent. We believe that children learn through play, thus teachers promote them to participate in short class activities, arts and crafts and free play throughout the day. Nelly's Childcare and Pre-School provides an environment safe and rich in activities, such as dramatization, dancing, arts and circle time. We use many materials that will help develop their maximum potential in an environment full of smiles and hugs!

Pre-School II: 3 1/2 years to 4 1/2 years (ratio 1:12)

 

Discovery of their own uniqueness! We understand that children learn most through social interactions and experiences. At this time the child refines their motor skills while still exploring their surroundings. Children are most attentive to new stories, learning experiences and their environment. They are eager to do things right and in most cases, to do things over and over again!

Nelly’s Childcare and Pre-School program combines the areas of socio-emotional, language, physical and cognitive skills of the child. We strive to create a positive and nurturing environment in order to provide among others, a constructive attitude towards school, curiosity and critical thinking as part of their development. We recognize the importance of the early years in a child’s life and development. We are strong promoters of your child’s uniqueness and we encourage this via positive reinforcement, praising and discussions of child’s work to increase their self esteem and curiosity.

The Curious! Children are fast learners and are engaged in understanding their world in their own way. Nelly’s Childcare and Pre-school program includes fun and learning activities that will help them understand their surroundings in a nurturing and caring environment.

We realize that children are constantly active and eager to learn new things. Therefore, our program has been designed to not only respect your child’s individuality, but also expand their minds with new activities, games, and technology that can promote their cognitive development. Children are introduced to a variety of activities and concepts in an effort to enhance their creative minds and cognitive development during the Pre-Kindergarten program. Nelly’s Childcare and Pre-School focuses on positive learning habits that stimulate, guide and challenge your child. This process will create confident individuals that have the necessary skills to have a good transition into 1st grade.

After School: 5 years to 12 years

Our after school program is designed to give children a strong auditory foundation so that they will feel comfortable hearing and speaking in Spanish and to continue our immersion program. The classes consist of songs, games, and other fun activities followed by discussion and reinforcement of skills.

Nelly’s Childcare and Pre-School offers a playful curriculum that adapts to the Spanish proficiency level of your child, so that young children may have the opportunity to develop strong listening and speaking skills before beginning literacy instruction in Spanish, and for older children to continue forming a more extensive and rich vocabulary, followed by reading and writing in Spanish.
